January Cat Chair Competition - CSS: Gun Game
The January 2012 Cat Chair competition will be Counter Strike Source: Gun Game.

This competition is open to anyone and everyone.

We intend to run this competition with all players in a single round however in the event that we are unable to achieve this we will split the competition into two rounds with the top 20% of each round going into the final round.

There will be one full practise round once we have everyone in the game.

Watch this space for the IP of the Jersey eSports public CS:S server (will be running CS:S-GG Jan/Feb)

The scores are in!
The scores are now fully up to date after the last two events, so you can now check out the league tables to see how you're faring. As you'll see, the first few places are incredibly close.

We'd also like to see some clans formed, or if you already have a clan that hasn't attended yet we'd like you to join in. This will enable us to run team-based games that aren't currently suitable for league competitions. If you're interested, please let us know.

See you at the next event!

Posted on 2010-09-23 by l_bratch

F1, FIFA11 and Halo Reach added to the list!
You can now pick the games from the list ready for the next event.

FIFA 10 will no longer be an option on the day.

The F1 game will be played on a PC with a Logitech G25 Steering Wheel and pedals setup for you on the day, so you can pick this from the PC games selection even if you are not bringing your machine along.

See you then!

August Event

Hey guys, just back from our first league event, and it went really well!

Counter Strike Source stole the show, with Joey winning that and l_bratch coming second, good work from the admin team there ;)

The league is currently up to date however there are still 2 matches that need to be played, 3rd place in Counter Strike Source and Dawn of War, which will be a 3 way battle.

As soon as they are done we can offically crown Gandhi as the event winner! So well done him!

Thanks again to everyone that came, and see you again shortly for the next event!

Pre Event Information

Hey guys, not long now until the event on Sunday, so I figure I'd run you through a few of the items you might need to know about!

If you are playing MW2 on the XBOX 360
Please bring your profile if you wish to use it on a USB flash drive, PS3 will have full unlocks, but as we have been unable to replicate this thus far on the XBOX, you have the choice of using the profile on the XBOX as it is, or bringing down your own profile to play on with your unlocks.

If you are not a registered member already
You WILL need a valid ID if you're over 18 to sign up on the day. If you are under 18 you will need to bring a completed form signed by a parent/guardian to gain entry. Forms can be picked up at the event as well, there will be a £2 registration fee for membership.

Get there early!
The competition games will be kicking off from 11AM, make sure you turn up as soon as you can, especially if you are not currently a member as we are expecting queues. If you are a member you can waive the queue and stroll on in. You will need to select the games you plan to compete in at the event when you turn up. The game selection will be announced tomorrow before the event.

If you are bringing your PC!
Power sockets - two. One for PC, one for monitor
Bring your IEC cables (kettle leads/power cables), keyboard and mouse
Monitors no larger than 24"
Headphones only, NO speakers
We will bring network cables for you to plug into - Wi-Fi won't work, so make sure you have a network port! (Ethernet)
Mouse mats are a great idea!
Make sure you LOCK your machine when you leave it
Preinstall your games!
Arrive nice and early if you're bringing a PC, you don't want to turn up and have little game time, we are open for people at 10
Ensure you are able to leave AT 4, the Fort closes, you won't be kicked out by us, but you will be by the Fort
Lock down any file shares that you don't want to be public

Other General Items
Entry is £5 to the event, you must also be a registered member (see above if not).
Drinks will only be allowed in if sealed, there is a lot of kit, and we don't want cans or any other kind of liquid being spilt over the equipment, obviously outside of our event will be fine (i.e. the rest of the fort).
We have 20 PC slots, first come first served, if you're late and there are no spaces left, sadly there isn't a lot we can do for you.
If you miss your competition slot by not being there at the right time, you will be knocked out at that stage, if you fail to compete in the first round you will not receive any points.

Other stuff not covered in this post?
Give us a mail, support@jerseyesports.com, and we will let you know, or just give any of the other admins or I a shout and we will let you know.

Looking forward to seeing you guys soon.

Ed
